Government Relations Committee

The SCC formed the Government Relations Committee to contact our elected officials and government agencies to assure that the community’s interest in a right-sized Scajaquada Corridor, including a unified Delaware Park, is a priority issue, especially in light of the February 8, 2017 deadline for comments.  Alan Bozer is the Chair of this Committee.

We are reaching out to the following:


Federal Highway Administration funds will be used in any reconstruction.  We have been reaching out to Senator Schumer and Senator Gillebrand for their assistance, and especially to Congressman Higgins, in whose district this project will take place, and we encourage you to do the same.


The current NYSDOT plan calls for a taking of city-owned parkland.  Our state delegation will be called upon for their views.  In addition to the Governor and Lt. Governor, we are in contact with:

All politics are local.  City officials must be consulted about the NYSDOT plan for the taking of city-owned parkland.  City officials should be contacted to express our resistance to any taking of parkland under current plans.  Mayor Brown ( and the Common Council should be contacted for this reason:
